Behold, I Have Spoken, Will I Not Do It?
There’s something about reaching the end of the year. There’s a weight to it. A realization. A marking of time. For me, this time of year has been hard. I felt the Lord speak a lot of hope into 2023 that still has not come to pass. And at the end of the year, with a few weeks left, hope deferred is on the horizon.
But God is still speaking. He sat me down today with a few reminders that might lift your spirit as well: When the Word of the Lord goes out, nothing can stand in its way.
I know some of you have been discouraged because what God has spoken to you in the supernatural has not made its way to the natural, yet. I know God has said you are healed, but your body is still broken. I know God calls some of you married, but you haven’t been asked on a date in years. I know God may call you a parent, but you are without children.
But I’m here today with some good news. When God speaks, it is final (Proverbs 16: 1-2). And when God moves, no army from hell or demonic force can hold Him back. What He intends, He accomplishes (Isaiah 46:9). The gates of hell simply cannot prevail against the Lord (Matthew 16:18). He has no rival. He has no equal (Isaiah 40:12-31).
I see many of you waiting in front of open doors, right at the threshold. Everything in your life seems to be holding you back from stepping through to what the Lord says is yours. But do not let the enemy win. Do not wait any longer at the gate of victory. Rise up, and step into what God has appointed for you. The time is now. Today is the day of salvation.
All Revelation is from The Lord
We serve a God of mystery and revelation (Daniel 2:22; Daniel 2:28; 1 Corinthians 2:7-16; Deuteronomy 29:29; Jeremiah 33:3). When I read these scriptures, I hear the Lord say, “I am a God who reveals mysteries. My sheep hear My Voice. My children know the voice of their Father. What I have spoken is True. It will come to pass.”
2 Peter 1:20-21 tells us that all true prophecy is from the Lord, not man. What God speaks, really does come to pass. Now sometimes people may tell us false words out of their own striving, and those words do not come to pass. When we experience such disappointments, it can be easy to not trust our own ability to hear God. But the time for doubting and unbelief is over. It’s time to stand firm in what God has spoken to you. A true word from the Lord will always come to fruition, though it may look different than you imagined or assumed.
One of my favorite revelation moments in the Bible is when Peter declares Jesus is the Son of God:
The Lord reveals to us things that we could not have come to on our own, always for His Glory and His purposes. This revelation brings salvation to Peter and further encourages him in what he was made to do: build the Church. And I love the last part of this Scripture. I think we often forget that what we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and what we loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
God has given us authority over our situation and our lives. We have the gift of choice. Choose to speak life over your situation. Choose to unleash heaven on earth. Stop speaking death over your promises from God. The Promise-Keeper is faithful. Don’t let your promise become an idol in the waiting season.
What God has revealed to you, which you have received in faith, will come to pass. It will be made known. In the proper time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
Friends, don’t put God in a box of your own making. He is the Creator of the Universe, the Lord of Time. He measures the seasons and holds back the oceans with His Voice. There’s nothing He can’t do. Get ready to watch Him work.
